Newspapers

The printed newspaper has a nostalgia for some people.  I personally don't like the smell of newspapers.  There is just something off about the smell that I can't quite place.  Maybe it is the combination of the type of paper and ink?  The ink also stains your hands.  Ew! Anyway, newspapers have lost their edge in this high tech world.    Integration of videos, interactive elements, and new graphics may be the only way to really save the newspapers, but it may not be enough.  Do we need to save newspapers or should we go in a new direction?

  1. My grandfather is a huge fan of newspapers. Not just because that he cannot use computer, but because reading newspaper is his habit. New technology is difficult for him, but newspaper is became his routine the whole life

  2. as my point of view, reading newspaper is a good habit. i agree with Jue's apinion, in China, the old generations don't really familiar with the new technology. so newspaper is important to the old generations to read news.

  3. I agree with you guys, it would probably be way too difficult for older generations to adapt to the new technology. Therefore, newspapers will have many years to come, but in the future, I guess we will have to invent easy-use computers for magazine reading for the old tech freaks!

  4. I guess will have to just wait and see! My grandparents actually enjoy trying to figure out their laptop and finding new sites. They kind of use me for their tech support, which can be a bit slow going but funny and fun.
